GENERATION Z
HAS THE POWER TO
MAKE CHANGE

THE PROJECT
The Get Ready To Vote Project aims to energize and mobilize Generation Z, allowing their voices to be heard. Through registering to vote, pre-registering to vote, and understanding key elements of the political process this goal can be achieved. Generation Z has the power to make change when they understand their fundamental rights, their abilities as citizens, and their responsibility as voters.

What is going on?
Young voters are much less likely to turn out to vote than older voters. The youngest voting age group, 18-24-year-olds, have the lowest voter turnout. Less than half the eligible voters reported voting in the past presidential election.
Why does this matter?
This matters because voting is the most powerful right of a citizen. Every vote influences elections and this voting age group, along with the coming generation of voters, are a large portion of the electorate. Additionally, voting is habit-forming. When young people miss the current election, we risk losing them in future elections.
